• H.A. Burkhard Insurance and Real Estate was formed with the purchase of the Tiffany Agency by Howard A. Burkhard in 1937.

• In the early years, Mr. Burkhard provided real estate and insurance services to the Central Adirondacks, as well as handling the rental and caretaking of area camps and cottages.

• In 1952, Mr. Burkhard's son-in-law, James J. Evans, Sr. joined the agency, forming Burkhard-Evans, Inc.

• Well versed in real estate, Burkhard and Evans were sought out to oversee the subdivision of many hotel and cottage colony properties from Long Lake to Big Moose Lake and along the Fulton Chain.

• Today, the Evans family continues to operate the business along with a staff of experienced real estate and insurance professionals.
